A Letter From The Owner
Reflecting on Seven Amazing Years of The Florista
Dear Friends,
As I sit down to write this, I can hardly believe it’s been seven years since I took the leap and started my floral design company while in college. I’ll never forget the hours spent in my college bedroom, scrolling through Pinterest, looking at floral designs and researching the companies I admired and aspired to emulate. I was young, ambitious, and, perhaps most importantly, unafraid of what the journey would entail (seriously… idk if I had ANY idea)—I had no clue about the obstacles I would face along the way. What began as a dream has (literally) blossomed into a vibrant reality, filled with beautiful blooms, unforgettable events, and incredible people. As we wrap up our time with ‘The Florista—Reimagined’ and prepare to unveil our rebrand to the world, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this journey and share some of the highs and lows that have shaped us into the company we are today.
When I first started this business, I envisioned creating beautiful floral arrangements that brought joy to people’s lives. I was simply obsessed with the idea of making pretty things for a living. Over the years, this company has expanded its offerings, and the events have only gotten bigger and bigger. I have developed lasting relationships with amazing clients, collaborated with talented planners in the industry, and created unforgettable memories while sharing countless laughs with incredible designers and artists. Each wedding, corporate event, and special occasion has allowed me to push my creative boundaries and innovate in ways I never thought possible. Watching my team grow alongside this business has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I’m grateful for every employee, freelancer, and designer who has created with us, laughed with us, and brought their most authentic self to the table. Together, we’ve created something truly special over the years, and looking back, it’s incredible to see how many hands have come together to shape The Florista into the company it is today.
Of course, this journey hasn’t been without its challenges. I started this business when I was very young, and it grew incredibly quickly. I was thrust into a leadership role and had to learn to manage relationships, expectations, and people in a capacity I had never experienced before. I always joke that I became an adult very quickly. While I know I didn’t—and still don’t—handle every challenge perfectly, I am proud of the rapid adjustments I’ve made to my character and take every lesson to heart. I also learned so much about business ownership and entrepreneurship. I learned about taxes, I learned about buying flowers, and most importantly I learned about taking care of people and leading a team. I grow every day in this role—and that is the beauty of it all. Each challenge my team has faced has taught us valuable lessons about resilience and adaptability. We’ve learned to pivot quickly, find creative solutions, and maintain our commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
Lastly, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of our clients who have taken a chance on us. Your trust and belief in our vision have been invaluable, allowing us to bring our creativity to life. Each event you’ve shared with us has not only been an opportunity to showcase our work but has also enriched our journey in ways we can’t fully express. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special moments and for believing in a young company with big dreams. Your support has been the foundation of our success, and I cherish the relationships we have built along the way.
As we celebrate this milestone with our new Florista rebrand, I want you to take a deep look at what this company represents. I wanted to create and showcase a brand that felt beautiful and creative, yet gritty and determined. I wanted to highlight the fun while also showing a group of gals that truly knows how to get their hands dirty. This rebrand means so much to me because I truly feel that it represents all that this company is and all that we have to offer to our clients for years to come.
Thank you for being a part of our story. Your support has made all the difference, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to bring beauty into your lives through flowers. Here’s to many more years of growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments together!
Lots of love,
Meg
